Hey y’all! Dux here with another edition of Dux Quax from Microsoft Tech Summit Sydney. This time around, I chatted with my friend Michael Kophs, Senior Product Manager for Microsoft. Watch or read below to listen to what he’d to say of Tech Summit, Azure, Microsoft 365, and much more!
Dux: Hey, everybody! We’re, what? Midway through Tech Summit, virtually, Michael?
Michael: Midway through the first day, yeah.
Dux: How’s the first day been?
Michael: It’s been fantastic. Huge turnout. I believe we’d over 2,500 people. We’d two back-to-back keynotes. That’s the very first time we broke our… This past year, we’d a primary keynote. We broke up into focus keynotes, one on Microsoft 365, one on Azure. Well-attended, couldn’t be more happy.
Dux: The keynote room was packed. The one which Take advantage of did on modern workplace, after which Julia on Azure. The demos were just phenomenal.
Michael: We come up with them demo-heavy. They are IT pros within the audience. You are able to only get to date with slides. The vast majority the information was demos, also it would be a demo of recent stuff, additional features and functionalities. I believe they left pretty happy.
Dux: Any trends you’re seeing when it comes to what sessions individuals are attending, do you know the most on-demand content people search for?
Michael: It’s still pretty early, but you may already know, the Tech Summit is actually centered on two big things. Driving people to Azure, and extremely demystifying Azure in obtaining many of the new IAS and also the new platform choices, after which Microsoft 365. This can be a new idea, newer concept, for several people.
So, they’re accustomed to likely to separate Office sessions. Window EMS, we’re attempting to tie it along with some tracks. For instance, we’ve three Microsoft 365 workshops. They are half-day workshops, where it covers deployment across Home windows EMS, Office 365, all-in-one workshop. That’s happening upstairs at this time.
Consider the breakout sessions as roadmap features, and opening sessions that comprise CTAs. The workshops are really in which you focus on the CTAs, and also you roll-up your sleeves, you need to do labs, and also you spend one half day doing stuff. We’re really looking forward to it.
Dux: That’s great. It’s pretty hands-on. People may feel it. People can give it a try, and it is not only all of the theoretical slideware that individuals see.
Michael: At Tech Summit, we attempt. We all know that individuals nowadays, that they like to understand in many various ways. It was once, we visit a celebration, and it is all 60-minute breakouts, a lot like senior high school. Everybody comes from the room. Everybody dates back in. Now, we’ve such things as our expo or hub area with Azure essentials.
Microsoft 365 booth, you are able to take an IT pro challenge. Then, there’s an expert center. Should you see that, there, hugely crowded. A lot of people queuing up to speak to our loudspeakers. Only then do we have, obviously, our breakout sessions. We’ve workshops, after which over this direction you’ll have labs. Being an IT pro, it’s not only about consuming content inside a session. Most of us have these different formats. That’s essentially exactly what the audience is telling us.
Dux: Despite this, all of the sessions can be found on-demand on Tech Community, that is great.
Microsoft Tech Community
Michael: As well as on Tech Community, yep. You’ll get tracks from the sessions. You receive the decks, after which, you can pose questions, and also the loudspeakers are engaged, and they’ll answer the questions you have. Keep your dialogue going. We don’t want occasions to become point-in-time, like, “Okay, I visited event.” That’s my only engagement with Microsoft. You arrived at the big event. Then, you receive this lengthy listing of CTAs. You retain the conversation dealing with Tech Community. Leverage loudspeakers, MVPs, and colleagues, to obtain solutions, other IT pros.
Dux: Talking about likely to occasions, this is actually the to begin many Tech Summits, right? There is a bunch more coming, so make certain you take a look at all of the Tech Summits. I know it’s visiting the local city.
Michael: This is among 14. 2017 and 2018, we’ve four more prior to the holiday, or three more prior to the holidays. Next, Tel Aviv, then São Paulo.
Michael: Then, Toronto, along with couple of other metropolitan areas in H2.
Dux: There you have it. Take a look at techsummit.microsoft.com.
Michael: Yep! That’ll enable you to get there, absolutely.
Dux: Thanks, Michael, and find out you out of all other metropolitan areas.
Michael: Okay, Dux, thanks!
